Mr. Babcock advised that,, though tm dewlopn:ent at trans-mountain water su.pply is nC1if definitely undemay, no specific ti.m! table £ar canpletion has been appraxima tad, nor~ has there bean arv actual determination made as to the additional quantity or water that this source can furnish, and far this reason, too,, it would be difficult far him to recommend that additional area be ad.dad far service until determination of these matters has been nade o Mro Babcock further reminded the gentlemen present that, not only mu.st careful consideration be given to the possibility or sufficient additional water S\lppq, but also, and of equal importance,, to the fact that additional water filtration capacity must. be developedo Mro Dale Rea, Engineer for the South..&ut. ingl.ewood Water District,, presented a map showing the area between East Balleview Avenue and the Arapahoe-Douglas County line and between South Broadwa7 and South Holly Streeto Mr. Rea had nade computations on the various sections of the map to show the projected potential of water taps anticipated in the area on the following basis: INSIDE EXISTING DISTRICT BOUNDARY Plannsd or platted sites with taps present:cy' pra'lided for -6, 747 Taps Unp~ in Residential Area Unpl».nned in Industrial Area 2$516 Taps __ 2_a .... o Taps Total potential. water taps inside existing district OUTSIDE EXISTillG DIS'llUCT BOUNDARY {INCLUDING UL'l'IlfATE AREA BETWEEN EXISTING EASTERN BOUNDARY l0,245 Taps 101 2b5 Tapa OF DIS'llUCT AND SOUTH HOLU' STREET, BETWEEN CRCHARD R<l\D AND COONTY LINE ROW) I . Unplanned Potential J,664 Taps Grand Tctal Mr. Rea stated, that from all indications, the growth in the area will require f'ram 1 ,000 to l,500 water taps per year until ful.q devel.Qpedo From the above projections, Mr. Rea pointed out the following infarnations lo The orig;lna.l district included apprm:imately 6,000 potential water taps for which the original distribution system was designed a.lld capacity of said crig:tnal system will have been reached upon issuance of the 61 000 tapso 2G 'lbe original. district has been allowed to expand to a point which will require 101 24S water taps to be served, as it noa exists, and apparentl,- the district is obligated to provide additions to the system to serve the additional taps o 3. !.f the district is allowed to exP&lld eastward to South Holly' Street., as provided in the Tri-City Trust Agreement, the distribution system shou1d be enlarged to serve a total or approximate~ 141 000 water tapso Mr. Rea pointed out further, that from an economics standpoint, it would not be much more costly to construct the additional facilities for the potential 1.4,,ooo taps than for the apprax:1mltely' 10,,000 taps to which the district is apparently' camnitted noao Mr. Rea indicated that, shoul.d the City of Englewood determine that water will be available to serve the ma:rl:nnun area, he felt that the distr1ct. should give consideration to the construction Qf the maximum. distribution systGmo J ' ' Mro Gl.em1 Danaldson, speaking as a Director of the Board of the South-East Englewood Water District; and, also representing llro Ben Elenbogen, of Dream House Acres, IrJco,," stated that he should like to ask the Engle1'food Water and Sewer Board, once again, to reconsider the application, original.:cy' presented under date of March l31 1960,. for inclusion into the South- East Englewood Water District, or the Northeast One-quartaro (Ni!li) of Section 2ha Township S South, Range 68 West, Ar&pah0& Count.v, CoJ.oradoc- Mro Donaldson again pointed out t.hat this land is located adjacent, on the east, 'to the existing east boundaIY of the South-East Englewood.
