DECEMBER ll, l.962 .· The meeting was called to order by Vice=Chairman Robohm at 5dO Po Mo Members Present: Braun, Brownewellsi Percefull_, Robohm Members Absent: Frantz" Oliner» Parker Mro Babcock, Utilities Director9 advised the Board that thei~e had not~ as yet» been a supplemental agreement made with Wo Wo Wheeler and Associates to cover the additional engineering for the change in location of the p~ing station in connection with Englewood Noo 1 Dam. After considerable discussion on the basis of charges for this additional work~ it was determined that the Utilities Director should mee·t with the City Attorney and Mr.,. Wheeler to draw up the necessary supplement that will be acceptable to both parties~ It was also recommendedp by the Board,, that all work done by the engineers,p on a cosi;c.plus basis should be itemized in detail on their statements~ The following letter» having been referred to the Water and Sewer Board.s> was received and read: .Mr., Lo Lo Browne-well City Hall Engle-wood, Colorado Dear Mro Brownewell: ncITY OF LITTLE'?ON 0 COLORADO 2450 West Main Littleton" Colorado November 19Ji 1962 The City of Littleton is embarking on a study to determine the best method of securing a firm source of water supply for both its present population» and the population likely to be living within the City within the next ten to twenty yearso In determining this supply9 it seems probable that it might be mutually advantageous to the City of Littleton to cooperate with neighboring cities in the development of a water supply o This could be of mutual advantage to both ci"C.ies and to the entire metropolitan area.:, In r~ gsrd to this~ we could be interested in obtaining your answer to the following questions: ao Is Englewood interested in selling treated water to the City of Littleton? bo Is Englewood interested in selling raw water to the City of Littleton? Co Does Englewood have any existing or proposed water develop .... ment program in which they would be interested in the assist= ance of the City of Littleton in the financing of the con= struction cost of the program in exchange :for utilization of a pro rata share of the total system capacities? In parti- cular ,p would i·l; be possible for Englewood a.Tld Littleton to develop or increase the capacity of already developed raw water sources for the mutual benefit o:r both cities? East Englewood Water District .3470 South Sherman Englewoo~ Colorado Dear Mro Fraser: November 26 1 1962 As a result of an inquiry by officials of your District and subsequent meetings of the Englewood Wat.er and Sewer Advisory Board,p I have been instructed to write to you in an attempt to a.mplif.y and possi- bly clarify some of the questions involved relative to the .future plans and possibilities for coordinating plans and timing with your Distr.iotc. Consequently I would like to offer the ;r:ollowing conunentsg lr-. Englewood Dam Noo 1 at Dad Clark Gulch is now presentJ.y under constructiono Due to favorable weather conditions this fall» pro= gress is ahead of schedule with prospects of an earlier completion date than originally estimated~ .- 3 ... 2t• Provisions 1n the construction contract speoi:ti&s that the Ci t;r ma,y begin storing water when the height of the dam reach s a certain elevation.!) thus considerable water could be available for use prior to tb.e actual co11pletion of the damo )o It is now definitely planned to construct a treatment plant at the site of Englewood Dam No" l., primari.ly to better serve the Southeast Engl.ewo?d Water District and also in so doing"' take part of the load off the ·main treament plant in Englewoodo There will be some questions as to tne elevation to which Engle-Jood would be obligated to pump the watero 4o The above plant will necessitate a transmission line :from the plant to the District's treated water reservoirs..
