MINUTES OF THE JUNE 13, 2006 MEETING. • The Englewood Water and Sewer Board approved the minutes of the meeting of July 11 , "fa"-' e....- 2006 meeting. Ms . Bums, Clark, Moore, Higday, Cassidy, Wiggins , Wolosyn, None Oakley, Habenicht • • • 2. LETTER FROM BARBARA WASKO, 4693 S. SHERMAN ST . The Board received letter from Barbara Wasko of 4963 S. Sherman regarding the sewer rate increase. Ms . Wasko received the notice to the South Englewood Sanitation District users , but questioned the wording of the flyer. She enclosed a "Study Guide : 6-Traits Writing-Organization Expository Writing" to illustrate her point. Ms. Wasko also enclosed a re-written flyer to illustrate her opinion of how the letter should have been worded. 3. WATER RIGHTS UPDATE. The Board received a copy of the June 12 , 2006 Water Rights Review from David Hill, Englewood's Water Attorney. 4. AMENDED WASTEWATER TRANSMISSION AGREEMENT FOR THE COUNTY LINE LANDFILL. The proposed amended agreement will allow County Line Landfill to continue to discharge accumulated groundwater and condensate to the collection system of the Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant under the conditions of a Wastewater Contribution Permit. The previous agreement expired May 15, 2005 . The Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant Pretreament Division has monitored pollutants quarterly from the landfill since 1985 and has not seen a significant impact from the landfill 's discharge . The permit is reevaluated every year, after the facility inspection. The Pretreatment Division assesses this discharge and analyzes the data to determine impact to the collection system and the wastewater treatment plant. Mr. Higday moved; Ms. Wolosyn seconded: Ayes: Nays: To recommend Council approval of the Amended and Restated Wastewater Transmission Agreement with County Line Landfill. Bums, Clark, Moore , Higday, Cassidy, Wiggins, Wolosyn, None • • • Members absent: Oakley, Habenicht Motion carried. 5. BOARD APPRECIATION NIGHT. There will be a Commission & Authority Appreciation Night on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in Centennial Park. Water and Sewer Board members are invited to attend. 6. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS. The Board received the following informational items: A. Successful compliance inspection of the City of Englewood 's water facilities from the State of Colorado dated May 22 , 2006 . B . Flyer from Thomas Cassidy, "Unscheduled Public Comments -The Englewood City Council Meeting Monday, June 19, 2006 which was distributed to City Council. The flyer outlines Mr. Cassidy's objections to the Southgate/Sou th Arapahoe Reimbursement proposal. C. Article from Opflow, "Multiple Barriers for a Smelly Situation" dated June, 2006 . Stu noted Englewood 's successful solutions for a similar taste an d odor situation at the Allen Filter Plant.
