Bernard Berardini, City Attorney, presented a brief historical background on
the City's policy regarding related employees. After a discussion of the
possibility of ma.king a reconrnendation to Council to amend the 1966 ruling,
the Board agreed to consider tbe situations which now exist in the City
1n various departments and after such consideration, to have further dis-
cussion on the topic,

The next item on the agenda was changes in Job Description Titles. The
following recrormnendations were made in order that the Descriptions be
non-discriminatory to __ either males or females t Metermaid to Parking
Enforcement Officer, Draftsman to Drafting Technician, Ma.intenanceman to
Maintenance Worker, Leadman to Leadworker, Paint and Body Man to Paint
and Body Specialist, Foreman to Supervisor, Garage Foreman to Garage
Supervisor, Planning Draftsman to Drafting Technician (Cornn. Dev.)
MR, WHITE MOVED, AND MR. HA'NSON SECONDED, TO CHANGE THE JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLES PER THE RECOMMENDATION.

The Fire Department was represented by Stanley Johnson, who questioned the
status of the nine men promised that department before the moratorium. He
was informed that the Board did not have that information and his question
would have to go to the City Manager or to the City Council.
Neither the Employees! Association nor the Police Department were represented.

One item was presented under the Corrmissioners' Choice. Rev. Hosanna read
a letter from Tom Burns and Mayor Taylor in support of the bond election
issue on elderly housing.

Under Personnel Director's Choice, Mr, Lorig informed the Board that the
Police Conmittee ·is currently working on changes in the performance
evaluation form. He also asked the members of the Board to review the
recorrmendations from Robert Mammen on the disposal of the appeals made
on the Detective Examination, copies of which the members had been
presented with.
