Vice Chairperson Turner called the meeting to order. Qxrrnissioner
Brundage moved, seconded by Qxrmissioner Schaffer, to approve the
June 19, 1980 minutes.

Itan 3 on the Agenda was the Employee Association's Choice. There
were no association representatives present.

Itan 4 on the Agenda was the City Manager's Choice. Mr. Wanush, Assistant
City Manager had nothing to reJX>rt.

!tan 5 on the Agenda was the Employee Relations Director's Choice.
Mr. BeVirt presented grievances fran Police Sergeants Leydon and Medford
regarding the City's health insurance plan. Mr. BeVirt explained that,
in his opinion, this was not a grievable itan. Upon Mr. BeVirt's recan-
mendation, the Board requested that they receive the City Attorney's
opinion concerning these grievances prior to the August 21, 1980 regular
meeting at which date the grievances would be set for hearing.
Mr. BeVirt also presented a grievance fran Firefighter Edison concerning
rmnning requiranents and overtime provisions. The Board also requested the
City Attorney's opinion of the grievability of this matter and detennined
that a hearing date be set at a later time due to Mr. Edison's vacation
·plans.

Item 6 on the Agenda was the Career Service Board's Choice. Coomissioner
Brundage suggested that the Board present Mr. William Hanson with a plaque
to show their appreciation for his past service as a rnenber of the Career
Service Board. The Board asked that arranganents be made for such pre-
sentation at the next regular meeting on August 21, 1980.

Itan 7 on the Agenda was the Declaration of Vacancies. O:mmissioner Schaffer
nntioned, seconded by Carmissioner Brundage to approve the Declaration of
Vacancies.
