I • • • BOARD OF CAREER SERVICE COMMISSIONERS MARCH 20, 1986 REGULAR MEETING PRESENT: Tom Fitzpatrick, Cathy Pokraka, Janet Kerzic, JoEllen Turner, Don Weber ABSENT: OTHERS: None Peter Juenemann, EEA/AFSCME President Michael Gruninger, EFFA President Darlene Gruninger, Police Department Jim Abshire, Data Processing Commissioner Don Weber opened the meeting. Roll call was taken and a quorum was established. The first item on the agenda was the approval of the minutes for January 16, 1986. Commissioner Pokraka moved and Commissioner Fitzpatrick seconded to hold these minutes as it appears a page is missing. It was also suggested that pages of minutes be numbered. Peter Juenemann was available to discuss and clarify the grievance procedure. He was again reminded that if a problem arises he should follow the procedure and file a grievance. Michael Gruninger was present. He introduced himself to the Board and asked for further clarification of the grievance procedure timeline. He was concerned about what to do if the grievance form gets lost. It was suggested that he keep a copy of any grievance filed. Gary Kasson from EPBA was not present at the meeting. No one was present from the City Manager's office. Next item on the agenda was Commissioner's Choice. Pokraka moved and Commissioner Fitzpatrick seconded Public Hearing as a separate meeting and held after the regular meeting. There were no objections. Commissioner to hold the the close of Commissioner Weber brought up the bill from Kathleen Kruger & Associates for transcr i pts of the Leyden hearings. A letter from Jack Olsen, dated December 2, 1985 requesting transcripts of the John L. Leyden hearings was referenced . Therefore, the bill is to be forwarded to the City Attorney's office for payment. Review of the budget was the next order of new business. There were several questions regarding line items. Jim Abshire from Data Processing, was available and volunteered to explain the breakdown of the accounts. Chairman Don Weber requested Bev to bring an item~zed reports of all the expenses, from the first of . the year, to the next meeting. There were no bills to be approved. Commissioner Pokraka read the following letters of correspondence into the record: To Ben Craig, written by Bev, in reference to a bill for the 1.7 hours that had not been paid previously; Gary Kasson, EPBA, notifying the Board of new officers; EEA/AFSCME listing new officers; Clerk of Court regarding pickup of files for Blanchard case. Chairman Weber had Bev pick them up and file them here. Chairman Weber read into the record, the memorandum dated March 1, 1986, from the Career Service Board of Commissioners to Andy Mccown regarding the Reclassification of the City Forester position with copy to Peter Juenemann.
