HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-08-26 CSB SPECIAL HEARING• • • PRESENT: ABSENT: OTHERS: BOARD OF CAREER SERVICE COMMISSIONERS August 26, 1987 SPECIAL HEARING Tom Fitzpatrick, Cathy Pokraka, Janet Kerzic, JoEl- len Turner, Harry Fleenor, Jr. None Pete Juenemann, President EEA Douglas Martin, Appellant Cindy Martin, Appellant's wife Rick DeWitt, Representing City Attorney Lionel Hopson, Appellant Attorney Stan Damas, Board Attorney Searl Brier, Employee Relations Mel BeVirt, Employee Relations Director Chairperson Harry Fleenor opened the meeting at 6:39 p.m. The first order of business was to receive the disciplinary appeal filed by Kevin Sage. A hearing date of Wednesday, September 9, 1987 at 6:30 p.m. was set to discuss the timeliness of the appeal. The Board then proceeded with the Martin hearing. Attorney's and defendant were present. Mr. Lionel Hopson, Attorney for Defendant, moved for a con- tinuance until the City could comply with their own procedures as set forth in Section 3-1N-9B. Rick DeWitt, representing the City of Englewood approached the Board and stated that the procedures had been followed and proper notice has been given. The Board moved into Executive Session to consider the motion. The hearing reconvened the same evening, and all members were present. Mr. Hopson approached the Board and stated his client had reached an agreement with the City and was withdrawing his appeal. The City stipulated to the agreement. Commissioner Fitzpatrick re- quested it be put in writing with signatures from all parties involved. The hearing was adjourned. Beverly R. Bj Recording Sec
