HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-08-19 CSB SPECIAL HEARING• • • PRESENT: ABSENT: OTHERS: BOARD OF CAREER SERVICE COMMISSIONERS August 19, 1987 SPECIAL HEARING Tom Fitzpatrick, Cathy Pokraka, Janet Kerzic, JoEl- len Turner, Harry Fleenor, Jr. None Pete Juenemann, President EEA Douglas Martin, Appealant Cindy Martin, Appealant's wife Rick DeWitt, Representing City Attorney Searl Brier, Employee Relations Chairperson Harry Fleenor opened the meeting at 6:32 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the timeliness of the ap- peal filed by Douglas Martin. Rick DeWitt was present to represent the City of Englewood. He agreed that the appeal was filed in a timely manner and the City did not consider timeliness to be an issue. Doug Martin was present and stated he was ready to precede. Com- missioner Pokraka explained that he did have the right to have an attorney present. Mr. Martin explained that his Attorney was out of town, but the Board could continue with the hearing and he would represent himself. The City presented their opening statements. Doug Martin then presented his opening statements. Commissioner Pokraka moved for Executive Session of the Board. Commissioner Kerzic seconded. The vote was unanimous and the Board adjourned. The hearing was resumed at 7:12 p.m. of the same evening. All members were present. Commissioner Turner moved for the hearing to be recessed until the Board could procure a n Attorney. Commissioner Pokraka secon- ded. The vote was unanimous and the hearing was adjourned until August 26, 1987 at 6:30 p.m .
