BOARD OF CAREER SERVICE COMMISSIONERS
January 21, 1988

Chairperson Harry Fleenor opened the meeting. A roll call was
taken and a quo 1·um was established.
Commissioner Kerzic moved to approve the minutes of November 19,
1987. Commissioner Turner seconded. The motion carried.
Commissioner Turner moved to approved the minutes of December 1,
1987. Commissioner Pokraka seconded. The motion carried.

Commissioner Kerzic moved to approved the minutes of December 10,
1987. Commissioner Pokraka seconded. The motion carried .
Next item on the agenda was Association's Choice. Peter Juene-
mann and Michael Gruninger were not present. Gary Kasson was
present to introduce the new officers of the Englewood Police
Benefit Association. President Gordon Madonna, Vice President
Mike Swan, and Secretary-Treasurer Mike Dailey all provided the
Board with their background and affiliation with EPBA.
The next order of business was City Manager's Choice. No busi-
ness was brought before the Board.
Under Commissioner's Choice, Old Business, the filing cabinet
was tabled for discussion at the end of the meeting.
Under new business, Commissioner Pokraka moved to approve the
September, October, November and December budgets. Commissioner
Kerzic seconded. The motion carried.
Chairman Fleenor called for a vote on whether the Board should be
reimbursed for Executive Sessions. Commission Pokraka moved that
October, November and December Executive Sessions held to prepare
for city Council meeting not be paid. Commissioner Turner secon-
ded. The vote was as follows:

Commissioner Kerzic moved to pay $200 to Valentine and Associ-
ates. Commissioner Turner seconded. The motion carried .
Commissioner Pokraka read a letter from Damas and Smith regarding
the charges on a previous statement. Commissioner Kerzic moved
to pay Damas and Smith $1,181.34. Commissioner Pokraka seconded.
The motion carried.
Commissioner Kerzic moved to pay Caplan and Er nest $1 ,794.75.
Commissioner Turner seconded. The motion carried.
Commissioner Pokraka read a letter dated December 10, 1987, from
Andy to Chairman Harry Fleenor, regarding the public hearing.
Commissioner Pokraka read a letter dated December 22, 1987, from
Mayor Otis to the Board regarding the tabling of Council Bill
#67.
Commissioner P o kraka moved and Commissioner Kerzic seconded that
after the next hearing, dismissal of a hearing or withdrawal of a
hearing, steps be taken to be on the agenda to read the findings
to the Council in an effort to improve communication. The motion
carried.
After discussion on the filing cabinet, it was suggested the
Recording Secretary check out the City procedure for ordering,
and Board members check resources available to them. The issue
was then tabled until the next meeting .
There being no other business for the Board, the meeting was
adjourned.
