Fleenor, Jr. None Mary Ann Gre gor y , Re cording Secretary Chairman Fleenor opened th e me eti ng. A roll call was taken and a quorum established. Commissioner Kerzic mov ed to approve the minutes of March 16, 1989 (Regular Meeting). Commission er Turner seconded. The motion carried. Association's Choice: Pet er J uenemann, EEA/AFSCME President, Officer Gordon Madonna, EPBA Presid ent, and Michael Gruninger, EFFA President were not present. The next order of busines s was City Manager's Choice. There being no one present from the City Adm ini stration , no business was brought before the Board. Under Commissioner's Ch oi ce, Ol d Business, Chairman Fleenor referred to a memorandum he r eceived fr om t he Mayor. The memorandum invited the Board to attend Council study se s sio n an d indicated dates of study sessions that were available. Mrs. Greg ory, Se cretary was asked to arrange the session for the Career Service Board t o meet wi t h City Council. Commissioner Turner inquir ed as to t he status of 1990 Association negotiations. Mrs. Gregory, Secretary, respo nded by affirming that wage reopener negotiations had begun between the Ci t y and the Englewood Employees and Englewood Police Benefit Associations. Commission er Belt moved t o pur chase name plates for all Career Service Commissioners to use i n t he Council Chambers . Commissioner Kerzic seconded. A roll call vote was t ake n resulting in 4 ayes and 1 nay (Commissioner Turner). The motion carr i ed . Commissi oner Kerzic r equ ested to withdraw from her appointment of Vice Chair. After discuss i on, Commis s i oner Turner moved to accept Commissioner Kerzic's request to withdraw as Vi ce Chair and appoint another commissioner. Commissioner Davidson seco nde d. A r ol l call vote was taken resulting in 3 ayes; 1 nay (Chairman Fleenor); and 1 abstain (Commissioner Kerzic). The motion carried. Co mm issi oner Tu r ne r nominated Commissioner Belt to the appointment of Vice Chair for t he Care er Service Board of Comm i ssioners. Commissioner Kerzic seconded. A roll call vo te was taken result i ng i n 4 ayes and 1 abstain (Commissioner Belt). The motion car r ied. BOARD OF CAREER SERVICE COMMISSIONERS May 18, 1989 -Page 2 Under New Business, after review and discussion of the 1989 March and April budgets, the Board accepted the respective budgets. The Board acknowledged and discussed the Caplan and Earnest letter regarding the Leydon litigation and the memorandum from Mayor Van Dyke, concerning Commissioner Kerzic's reappointment.
