August 30, 1990
SPECIAL HEARING
PRESENT: William Belt, Carla Davidson, Janet Kerzic, JoEllen Turner and
Harry M. Fleenor, Jr.
ABSENT: None.
OTHERS: Ronald Beck, President of EPBA
Tom Buescher, Representative of EPBA
Martin Semple, Representative of City of Englewood
Chairman Fleenor opened the meeting at 6:35 p.m. Mr. Buescher called Ronald
Beck, John Knoth, Robert Stef, and Allan Stanley as witnesses. Mr. Semple
called David C. Miller. The grievance concerned the requirement by Director
Stanley that certain Police Officers wear a "beeper" so that they can be
reached for emergency duty. The EPBA is of the opinion that this constitutes
standby status.
After listening to the witnesses and arguments of the attorneys, the Board
adjourned the meeting to make its decision and compose its findings. The
hearing for the presentation of the findings will be held on September 13,
1990.
The meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
