HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-03-16 CSB MINUTESCAREER SERVICE BOARD MINUTES March 16, 1995 The regular meeting of the Board of Career Service opened at 6:35 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. Present: Members Yaklich, Fleenor, Perry-Smith and Turner. Ms. Kerzic was absent. The Board approved the Minutes of January 19, 1995. Mr. Fleenor addressed the letters from the EPBA reducing the amount it paid for its share of the Impasse expenses, the response by Ms. Barthlome. as well as the latest letter from Stan Damas. The Board noted that the Charter says the EPBA is required to pay one-half of the expenses, which were $7,500.77. Mr. Fleenor proposed the following Resolution: This Board has resolved that: We urge the EPBA to pay its complete 50% share of the Impasse expenses as required by the Home Rule Charter 137:6: "All fees and expenses of the fact- finding process, including the making, but not the transcription of a record and assistance of counsel to the Board shall be shared equally by the City and the Certified Employee Organization." The motion was seconded by Mr. Yaklich , and the Board unanimously approved the Resolution. The December 1994 Expenditure Report was not approved because it was not clear as to the reimbursements by the City and the EPBA. The February 1995 approval was also postponed subject to an explanation of the reimbursements . Mr. Yaklich asked about a possible impasse with both the EPBA and the Firefighters, and the Board asked that a timeline from Ms. Barthlome be submitted indicating when negotiations would begin. Ms . Perry-Smith asked for a schedule of fees from Mr. Damas and would like to consider the cost of Mr. Damas' associate. Mr. Fleenor will make the request. The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
