a) Cure period for BID petitions
The Bid steering Comm ittee is ready to launch their petition drive. State Statute does not address the
issue of whether or not they shall be allowed a cure period (to cure any deficiencies to the petitions).
As State Statute is silent on this issue, Ms. Ellis asked the Commission to consider adopting a policy that
would allow for a cure period of five (5) working days. This is a pretty standard cure period.
Our Charter , Article II § 11 states that "where municipal election procedure is in doubt, the Election
Commission shall prescribe the procedure to be followed."
