Consideration: Members Goosman, Jensen, Ell is, Lay None Member Nabholz a) Cure period for BID petitions The Bid steering Comm ittee is ready to launch their petition drive. State Statute does not address the issue of whether or not they shall be allowed a cure period (to cure any deficiencies to the petitions). As State Statute is silent on this issue, Ms. Ellis asked the Commission to consider adopting a policy that would allow for a cure period of five (5) working days. This is a pretty standard cure period. Our Charter , Article II § 11 states that "where municipal election procedure is in doubt, the Election Commission shall prescribe the procedure to be followed." Vote results: Ayes: Members Goosman, Jensen, Nabholz , Ellis, Lay Nays: None Policy adopting a cure period of five (5) working days for BID petitions is approved. 3. Clerk's Choice: a) The Commission was advised that the three election issues, they had previously considered , were scheduled to be presented to City Council at their April 17, 2006 Study Session. The three issues are: allowing City of Englewood candidates to accept corporate and labor organization contributions, the housekeeping amendment to the Code regarding election returns/canvassing and requesting authority to autofill the fields for city and county information on the City of Englewood candidate nomination petitions .
