ENGLEWOOD ELECTION COMMISSION
September 6, 1995
1. Call to Order
The meeting of the Englewood Election Commission was called to order at 5:00 p .m. by
Chairperson Jo Lay in the City Clerk's office .
2. Roll Call
Present :
Absent:
A quorum was present.
Also Present:
Ellis, Valero , Warren, Wilson, Lay
None

3. General Municipal Election Matters
City Clerk Ellis related to the Commission that, at the request of the Friends of the
Library, she will be conducting informational meetings regarding the mail ballot process.
The meetings will be held on October 5 and 11 , 1995 in the George Perrin room
commencing at 7 :00 p .m. She told the Commission , also , that City Attorney Brotzman
will be leading off a candidates' meeting on October 24th with a presentation regarding
ballot issues . Ms . Ellis said all three meetings are open to the public .

The Commission reviewed the proposed ballot issues for the 1995 election .
CHAIRPERSON LAY MOVED, AND IT WAS SECONDED, TO APPROVE THE
BALLOT FOR THE 1995 ENGLEWOOD GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
Ayes : Ellis, Valero, Warren, Wilson, Lay
Nays : None
The motion carried .

City Clerk Ellis discussed the drawing scheduled for 6 :00 p .m ., as part of this meeting .
She stated that, by State Statute, a drawing must be held to determine the order in which
the candidates' names will appear on the ballot. She said that all candidates ' names have
been printed on slips of paper of equal size, and that the papers will be folded twice and
placed in a hat by the candidate, if present. Chairperson Lay will then draw the names by
district. All City Council Candidates were invited to attend the drawing .
Present for the 6 :00 p .m. drawing were candidates Ann Nabholz and her son Nicholas,
Gale Schreier and his wife Martha, Alexandra Habenicht, and Julie Grazulis .
Names were drawn as prescribed , in the following order:
District I : Gale A. Schreier
Ann Nabholz
Rita L. Hathaway
District III: Lauri Clapp
Julie A. Grazul is
Mitch Waldman
At-Large : Alexandra (Alex) Habenicht
Kells Waggoner
Gary (Coach) Kozacek
4. Members' Choice
City Clerk Ellis congratulated Rene Valero , formerly Mulnix, on her recent marriage.
5. Adjournment
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6 : 10 p .m.
