Davis, Fouts, Harris, Jackson, Jensen, Means, Prado, Roth, Russell, and Van Dyke. Members Absent: R. Davis, Grimes, Hartman, and Howe. Also Present: Rita Hathaway, City Council Representative Charles Kadis, Englewood Citizen Dana Glazier, Coordinator The Clean, Green, and Proud Commission met March 9, 1993 to discuss several issues. Those discussion are briefly outlined below. I. Election of New Officers: Two nominations were submitted: Lee Means ,for Chair and Barbara Davis as Vice Chair. Both were unanimously approved. II. MSW Plan: Glazier distributed a copy of the Englewood Citizen that had an article discussing the Commission's MSW proposal and announcing the date of the public forum. The forum is set for 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13th. Discussion then ensued about how best to conduct the forum. It was decided to have Glazier present an overview of the issues and the reasoning behind the proposal. Afterwards, the public would be asked for their comment that would be directed by L. Means. Finally, Glazier would present a summary of the public's input. R. Hathaway volunteered to keep a written record on a flip-chart of all the issues mentioned. Once the public's input had been received, the Commission would discuss those at the May meeting. III. Bag-A-Thon: Glazier informed the Commission that the sub- committee was unable to meet last week. However, much planning had been done to date. Glazier reported that the Commission had: permission to use the parking area in front of Little Dry Creek . sent letters to last year's sponsors requesting donations. The sub-committee would be meeting soon to begin final planning and contacting interested groups to supply environmental educational booths. III. Future Issues in MSW: Glazier explained that the City has applied for a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to conduct a one-day seminar to educate small to medium sized businesses about environmental regulations. Potential sponsors have been contacted, as well as facilities in which to hold the seminar. Glazier stated the decision from the E.P.A. is expected sometime in the early spring. Staff was also going to meet with the Director of Denver University's National Center for Preventative Law to assess what specific audience should be targeted. The leaf and grass drop-off program has been postponed until a potential sponsor or two can be identified. Currently, the City • has no current funds available to support the program. Glazier • did state, however, that he would continue to pursue funding from alternative sources. •
