The following topics were discussed at the November 9, 1993
meeting of the Clean, Green, and Proud Commission:
1. Education Coimnittee Report; R . Davis reported that the
Education Committee has been busy setting up dates to
display the recycling booth at area locations. To date the
Englewood Library, several grocery stores, grade schools,
and the Englewood Recreation Center have shown an interest.
Glazier stated that he was in the process of purchasing the
display sign for the booth. Davis stated she would contact
other institutions, such as Cinderella City, to see if there
was additional interest in displaying the booth.
It is anticipated that a workshop would be held sometime in
January or February. The Committee scheduled a meeting for
November 30, 1993 to discuss what type of workshop could be
presented and where.

The Commission requested that at the next meeting of the
Commission, the video "No Time to Waste" be shown.
2. Leaf and Tire Collection; Glazier presented the final
results of the leaf and tire drop-off program that was held
in conjunction with the City of Littleton. A total of 210
individuals participated: 84 from Littleton, 83 from
Englewood, and 43 from the surrounding areas. Glazier
reported that 178 tires and 630 cubic yards of non-compacted
leaves were collected. Glazier stated that he felt the
program was a success, but he suggested that the dates of
the next year's program be pushed back to include the first
two weeks in November. He also requested that the
Commission give thought to sponsoring a tire drop-off at the
same time as the household chemical collection.
3. Other Business; Means encouraged the Commission to
think about what the Commission means to the Community and
how the Commission can help the Community reach their goals
related to the environment and solid waste issues. He
suggested that the Commission spend some time discussing
goals and objectives the Commission should work on in 1994.
Van Dyke requested that copies of suggested programs from
Keep America Beautiful be distributed to all members.
Glazier stated he would make copies for all.
It was suggested that the December meeting be a non-business
meeting away from City Hall. Glazier stated he would make
arrangements for a dinner at Saigon Palace similar to last
year's holiday gathering.
