CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Ferber called the regular meeting of the Keep Englewood Beautiful Comm i ssion to order at 6 :30 p.m. Present: Absent: Staff: Berens, Ferber, Fish , McCahill, Roth , Taylor, White, Stankorb, Huffaker, J. Edwards, Bippus Brereton, Craig, D . Edwards, and Radosevich (absent with notice ) Goldsmith and Nabholz (absent without notice ) Bi ll Donnell y, Staff Liaison II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Mccahill moved; Mr. Roth seconded: THE MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 14, 2001 MEETING BE APPROVED AS WRITIEN . Motion carried. Ill. VOLUNTEER HOURS Mr. Donnelly collected the volunteer hour forms . IV. SOUTH PLATTE RIVER CLEANUP Mr. Huffaker provided a recap of the River Cleanup along the Platte held on September 29, and thanked everyone who volunteered. All went well and the Cub Scouts were a big presence at this years event. Recommended for next year is more advertising to get the word out so we can get an even bigger turnout. Free parking and free lunches were all at the Fishback Landing in Denver. V. HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS MATERIAL ROUNDUP Mr. Donnelly provided a recap of the Household Hazardous Material Roundup held on the 5th and 15th of September. This event was a big success regardless of the rain out on the 5th. A reminder, that in case of rain next year, a second day is also held for the event. The event collected more than $1540 .00 from residents of bo t h Englewood and Littleton. VI. LEAF AND TIRE A sign up sheet was passed around for members to sign . Conflict with par ade on November 3'd. Coordinate with Littleton to switch dates so KEB is responsible for the November 101h event. Bill Donnelly discussed the logistics of event and will get information to commission members. VII. GOOD NEIGHBOR DAYS Ron Fish provided a recap of event and what could be done to improve upon the past years activities. He suggested a pickup coordinated with Waste Management for people who could not get to drop area. Dean suggested a refund for the certificate. Also how many coupons have been redeemed needs to be determined from Waste Management. VIII. HOLIDAY LIGHTING IX. The Holiday Lighting Event will be held on December l l 1 11 this y ear in pl ace of the regular meeting. Jackie Edwards volunteered to chair the event. A van will be provided through the city so the members can judge the event. HOLIDAY DINNER December 13 1h has been set as the date for the Holiday Dinner. Time, date, and location will be provided at the November Meeting. IX. COMMISSIONER'S CHOICE Samara provided information about Big Brother Big Sister program and perhaps KEB might consider working with them on the donated cars program. A motion to send flowers to Nancy Fenton, the commission's recording secretary who recently underwent back surgery was put in place. Jennifer Bippus stated she no longer has a work number since she is back in school full time. Janet Berens received advertising for her RTD adopt a bus stop . Bill McCahill wants to adopt a bus stop at Broadway and Dartmouth and put KEB 's logo on it . A move to approve adopt a bus stop and put a logo on it. Ron Fish moved Jennifer Bippus seconded 2 ,, • • • XI. ADIOURN There was no further business to be brought before the Commission. Mr. Roth moved; Mr. Mccahill seconded : THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED.
