July 12, 2005
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Keep Englewood Beautiful (KEB) Commission was called to order at
6:30 p.m. by Vice Chai r Dooley Gehr.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
June 14, 2005
Vice Chair Gehr called for consideration of the Minutes of June 14, 2005 .
Gorsky moved:
Brick seconded: The Minutes of June 14, 2005 be approved as written.
The motion carried.
III. INTRODUCTIONS
Newly appointed members Holly Montague and Marc O gonosky were introduced and welcomed
to the Commission by Vice Chair Gehr. All members in attendance introduced themselves.
IV. VOLUNTEER TIME FORMS
Volunteer time forms were distributed for completion, collected upon completion, and given to
staff.
V. 5-K FUN RUN
Sponsorship forms were checked to be sure all donors were included. Sponsors were divided
into groups and commission members were to provide posters to assigned groups. The posters
are to be available to commission members for distribution the weekend of July 22, 2005.
Council liaison Wolosyn asked for a count of tee-shirts needed for the race, inclusive of
volunteers and runners .
A 5-K Fun Run subcommittee meeting was scheduled for July 19, 2005 . An additional regular
meeting of the KEB was scheduled for August 2, 2005.

Mr. Gorsky was assigned the job of coordinating the 5-K race .
Council liaison Wolosyn asked if there were enough prizes for racers and the drawing.
VI. STAFF CHOICE
Mr. Fruchtl reminded members that the Household Hazardous Waste days are .scheduled for
September 10 and September 17, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. KEB members will staff the
"screening" area on those dates.
"Cartridges for Kids" have requested they be allowed to pick up used computers and used cell
phones to be used for projects benefiting children.
Mr. Brick moved:
Mr. Gorsky seconded: The request from "Cartridges for Kids" be approved, and the
organization be invited to attend a future KEB meeting to discuss their
program.
The motion carried.
Councilman Woodward moved:
Commissioner Sampson seconded: All remaining Good Neighbor Day coupons be distributed
at the Household Hazardous Waste days.
The motion was approved.
Councilman Woodward suggested that this action be published in the Englewood Citizen.
VII. COMMISSONER'S CHOICE
Councilman Woodward announced that City Council may issue a proclamation declaring
September as "Keep Englewood Beautiful" month .
It was noted that a table count and logistics need to be established for tables and chairs by the
end of July. This is to be discussed at the sub-committee meeting.
A question was raised on the date for the Keep America Beautiful litter count.
Ms. Olson mentioned she had a group of students that may be able to provide KEB with
assistance on some of our programs.
Mr. Ogonosky mentioned that he is running for City Council in District 4.
Ms. Sampson thanked the commissioners for their help with her community yard sale .
Ms . Humphreys said she will be in San Francisco on August 2ih, the day of the 5-K Run, and
will not be available to assist.

Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
