CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Keep Englewood Beautiful (KEB) Commission was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Conference Room, Chair Olson presiding. Present: Adams, Brick, East, Olson, Montague, Rothe, Sabrsula, Sampson Absent: None Staff: Audra Kirk, Staff Liaison Bob Mccaslin, City Council Liaison Guest: Chris Hoagland Volunteer hour forms were collected. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Adams moved: Ms. Montague seconded: TO APPROVE THE NOVEMBER 14, 2006 MINUTES . Motion carried. Ill. HOLIDAY LIGHTING EVENT Next year when judging, the Commissioners suggested leaving postcards at homes or businesses that didn't enter the event, encouraging them to enter the following year. The Commissioners were pleased with the event over all. IV. KAB CONFERENCE UPDATE Ms. Kirk updated the Commission on the Keep America Beautiful Conference she attended in December. She stated she would share more ideas at the retreat next month, but one suggestion was to have college fraternity groups needing volunteer hours assist with the Commission's efforts. Ms. Sampson asked that staff investigate the possibility of a Commissioner attending the conference next year. Office Depot and Sherwin Williams are affiliated with KAB; perhaps they could sponsor Commissioners attending. V. FEBRUARY MEETING/RETREAT The Commission decided to hold a retreat at their February meeting and to start the meeting at 5:30 p.m. The agenda for the retreat will be to: 1 .; • • • • Discuss the upcoming year; • Redefine the Commission 's mission ; restructure the Commission • Restart subcommittees; come up with a common vision and get out into the community to inform people • Gain input from Community Development VI. STAFF'S CHOICE Ms. Kirk distributed Resolution 86, the tree census, and a memo regarding the Metro Mayor's Caucus. VII. COMMISSIONER'S CHOICE Ms. East stated she needed a Commission notebook. Mr. Brick clarified that he was not resigning from the Commission; he was not seeking reappointment to the commission . Ms. Sabrsula stated she would like to be on the Partnership Committee. Ms. Montague suggested putting environmental tips on the Englewood calendar. Ms. Adams suggested writing articles for the Citizen . The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m. Brett East, Note Taker 2
