Chair Bayless presiding. 2. Roll Call Present: Sunshine Cross, Tom Winthrop, Susan Bayless, James Garnett, Jennifer Jones, Gary Nordlander, Bob Mccaslin, Audra Kirk, Cal Grant, Mila Pilz . Linda Olson Absent/Excused: Brett East , Dianna Miguez, Theresa Sabrsula, Jimmy Pinzenscham Guest : Chris Hoagland 3. Approval Minutes Motion : Approve the September 8, 2009 Minutes as written. Moved by Gary Nordlander, Seconded by Sunshine Cross . Motion carried . 4. Guest Speaker Mr. Hoagland presented ideas on funding the Household Hazardous Waste Roundu p by pl acing a fee on citizens' water bills and building a hazardous collection facility at the Littleton/ Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant. Mr. Hoagland asked for the Commission 's support in the form of a recommendation to City Counc i l. Discussion ensued. The Commission currently cannot provide a recommendation . Mr. Mccaslin will submit a Council r equest for a feasibility study on creating a fund through Utility billing. 5. Old Business • Comprehensive Plan Commission reviewed Goal 5 of Section 9 . Mr. Mccaslin will update the Commission on the trash hauling issue at the November meeting . • • • • Household Hazardous Waste There were 159 Littleton citizens that dropped off hazardous materials, and 91 Englewood citizens. Englewood had 60 citizens drop off electronics, and Littleton had 32 . Costs were reduced from $34,000 to $26,000, which included electronic recycling . The approved contract was for a total of $38,500. 6. New Business • Composting Classes Susan updated the Commission on the status of holding compost i ng classes at the Malley Center and Englewood Recreation Center. • Education Each Englewood school will be i nvited to attend a Comm i ssion meeting. • Leaf and Tire Drop The Commission will staff the event on Sunday, November 8 . The location has not been determined . • Holiday Lighting Judging will take place on December 8 in l i eu of a Commission meeting. The Com m issioners decided not to distribute yard signs; the ground is frozen and the signs are extre m ely heavy . Ribbons and certificates will be given out . 7. Staff's Choice Audra reminded Commissioners that some of their terms expire in February . Applications for reappointment are due in November. 8.
