t. Meeting Opening
MINUTES
September 14, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 6=40 p.m. in the City Council Conference Room. Vice
Chair East presiding.
2. Roll Call
Present: Cyndi Bowie, Chris Brennan, Candie Dalton, Brett East, Tom Winthrop,
James Garnett, Gary Norlander, Kaylene Proctor, Cate Townley
Absent/Excused: Susan Bayless, Jennifer Jones, Dianna Miguez, Theresa Rinker,
Jill Wilson
3. Approval of Minutes
Motion: Approved the August 10, 2010 Minutes as written. Moved by Cyndi
Bowie, Seconded by Gary Nordlander .
4. Old Business
• Community Garden: An end of summer event will be held at the garden,
Saturday, September 18, 5-7 pm. Brett will forward the invite to all the
Commissioners. Gary asked that a thank you note be sent to Jeremy Litchfield,
a student at the Alternative High School, for the benches located in the
community garden. The benches were part of his Eagle Scout project.
• Community Appearance Index: Event to be rescheduled for later in September.
Cate volunteered to assist Cyndi and Jill.
• Household Hazardous Waste: Approximately $4,000 in co-pays were collected.
5. New Business

• Leaf and Tire: The event will be held October 31 and November 7. A sign-up
sheet was circulated for October 31.
6. Staffs Choice
Staff has Commissioners to submit their volunteer hours .

7. Commissioner's Choice
Commissioners asked staff to determine the deadlines for the City's activity guide and
Engl ewood Citizen in order for them to start planning ahead for those publications .
Commissioners were reminded to email staff properties to be included in the mailing for
next year's garden tour.
Denver Urban Garden is holding an organization-wide event on September 25 at Ruby
Hill.
Tom will r e connect with Englewood High School and update the Commission at the next
meeting.
