Clark, City Manager COUNCIL GOAL AND PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION Council has adopted the current Rules of Order and Procedure contained in the Englewood Home Rule Charter. RECOMMENDED ACTION Staff seeks Council support for the attached bill for an ordinance amending the Rules of Order and Procedure for City Council meetings. This ordinance is intended to streamline the meeting process while maintaining public input on issues affecting the City. BACKGROUND, ANALYSIS, AND ALTERNATIVES IDENTIFIED Th · . ent meeting agenda format calls for each item to be heard separately. The proposed for mdl would expand the Consent Agenda section to include all items that are very standard in nature, and would allow for the approval of all the items simultaneously. This proposed format will significantly decrease the amount of time devoted to non<ontroversial, standard items, allowing more time for citizen input and discussion of matters requiring more irw:fepth consideration. The expanded Consent Agenda may include Resolutions, Motions, and Ordinances on first and/or second reading. In addition, the proposed amendment will place Public Hearings prior to the Con sent Agenda, allowing for public input. Council has the prerogative to remove any item from the Consent Agenda and have it heard during the regular course of the meeting.
