Staff recommends that the bid be awarded to Universal Tractor in the amount of $26,986. PIEVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION None. BACKGROUND The Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant is a 45 acre site that requires maintenance of ten acres of irrigated sod maintained to part< quality and ten acres of rough grounds requiring weeding and general maintenance. A tractor with mowing equipment is necessary to maintain the site within Code requirements. The bucket and backhoe accessories are needed for general site excavation, irrigation system repair and maintenance, and landscaping installation. The existing tractor was purchased in 1980. The Servicenter schedule of replacement for this type of equipment is ten years. The tractor has provided 14 years of service, and its overall condition now warrants its replacement. The unit will be sold at auction. • .. -•• .... Staff recommends awarding the bid to the low bidder, Mile High Turf Equipment, in the amount of $53,381. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION Series 94: Contract 134 -to Environmental GolfNalley Crest Landscape for construction of the Nine Hole Par 3 Course. Ordinance 121 -lntergovem~tal Agreement with the City of Sheridan. Resolutions 13, 137, & 131-Authorization and acquisition of real properties. Ordinance 17 -Authorized the issuance of Golf Course Revenue Bonds. Series 93: Resolutions 1107, 1109, & 1110 -Authorized acquisition for real property, appropriated funds for real property, and stated intent to issue revenue bonds. Ordinance 157 -Created Englewood Municipal Golf Course Enterprise. BACKGROUND Four pieces of equipment were included in the bid request: Green's Mower, Sand Trap Rake, Fairway Mower, and a Tee Mower. This equipment is necessary to maintain the new driving range and the 9 Hole Par 3 addition. The equipment was projected in original cost estimates and the funding was included in the bond appropriation. •• - •. I . • 0 ! I~ ' - • • • • "' - ~ . • ~ • <. STAFF ANALYSIS The equipment was grouped together as a single bid. Requests for Bids were distributed to three different vendors. Three proposals were received and opened on August 11, 1994. All bids were acceptable and Mile High Turf was the low bidder. We estimated a savings of approximately S 17,000 by bidding the equipment as a group. We received a trade in of $5,000 for a Green's Mower. This is included in the final bid proposal. PROS AND CONS OF OPTIONS IEVIEWED The purchase of this equipment will allow us to properly maintain the new expansion acreage. The funding for this equipment will come from the bond appropriation and not from the existing golf fund. FINANOAL IMPACT $75,000 was budgeted for this project and funded through the sale of Golf Course Revenue Bonds. L. L. Johnson Dist.
