Referencing our aeetin&, I aa in concurrence that we need to address the usability/reliability of unit 5154 in aeetina your Recreation Proaraa needs. My records indicate the bus was purchased in October of 1988 fro• American Transportation and Equipment Coapany for 145,400.00. At the time of purchase the estiaated service life of the vehicle was placed at 15 years. This would brina unit 5154 up for replacement in the year 2011. From our work order history, we started havina probleaa in early 1989 with continuin& breakdowns to the present tiae. As you can see from Pat White's report, fro• 1990 to the present tiae ·repair costs total 59,289.20. Thia aaount ia excessive for a vehicle which is three and one-half years old, when conaiderin& that 20 percent of the purchase price has already been expended for repairs. Evaluatina the situation, we have the followina options available to us: 1. Continue uaina the vehicle•• is, aakin1 all repairs as required.
