We do not want the street widened, since it will entail reiiiOYal of

We t he und ersigned do n ot want to have the city make any
i mprovements on our bl ock. We feel that these improvements have
a lready been put i n and paid for once and doing it all over again
will cause much hardship for us dwelling on this block . Many are
li ving on a pension and retired and such a great expense at this
time or any time with out true necessity would endanger their abil ity
to be property owners.

During the s unm er of 1970 a petItion was circ u l a ted in our ne i ghborhood
to pave "concrete" the alley from Do wning to Ogden between Ea st Amhers t
Avenue and East Bates Avenue. At the time the petition circulated, my
wife and I signed this petit i on in favor of the paving . I reques t tha t
both my wife s and my name be de l eted from th a t petition .
We have recently signed a petition a ga inst t he paving of the a lley d ue
primarily to the cost which is approxi mately $9DD.OO, and from discuss ing
this with several neighbors who are either re tired or under financial
hard ship , found this added cost would c reate even add it ional hardships for them.
Sincerely Yours ,
