I am writing this in beha1r of my wife, since she
and I wi11. both be out of to ~ on bearing date on a bove sub-
ject . The property lies on th e East side of 2?00 lock of
South Lincoln. I noted from ~be 1ega1 publication that
Council, on its own motion , p ro p oses to pave subject a11ey .
This, I believe, wi11 impose a needless financial burden on
the abutting property owners .
Most of the resideLta own their h omes ~hich are
p rimarily sin ~le family types . There is very little tra f£ic
in this al ley a d your maintainers may be seen once or twice
a year~ a nd thi s i s a11 that is re q uired . If pa v ed ~ it should
p roba bly be swept every month or two to keep ic free o£ dirt
and gra ve1 .
As nearly as can be determined only about three or
four of the p roperties favor che pav ing~ while the remaini g
ones are op p osed. It is my ucderacandin ~ tha t a p etition re-
ques tin ~ exclusion of this alley from the p r opos e d paving dis -

be honored . t.111 a ny o.f the owners e re ei t 1er on a meage r c ompany

By the wa y , I wa1k qui te a bit now a nd find the side-
walk o the East side of Lincoln in t h e 2d00 hundred b~oc k south
in a very deplorable condition. It i s my UDderstandin g that
this fact has been re ported over che pas~ year or two . Improvin g
